Yorda Adventures run a variety of projects that seek to support families who have children with disabilities. Some of the projects we run have been commissioned by other organisations. We will make it clear when this is the case; it may mean that the criteria for who receives a place on the project is slightly different to usual, or that we are targetting a particular group of young people (for example, those with mobility difficulties, or those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder)
To see the projects that are coming up in the next few months take a look in the calendar, from the menu on the left hand side of your screen. Take a look at the gallery to see what we've got up to on previous projects. If you have any questions at all about our projects please do not hesitate to contact us.
If you would like a young person you to have the opportunity to take part in a project we are running we recommend joining our mailing list, so that you are amongst the first to know when we release new information.
ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS
PLAY SCHEME
Our Adventure Holidays are high quality respite breaks for children and young people with disabilities. For the young people that come along we offer a fun holiday, with opportunities to take part in leisure activities that are tailored to each group we take away.
For the families, we offer a two night, three day break from the 24/7 task of care. This is an opportunity to spend time with other siblings and to have a well earned break.
We charge £60 for a place on an Adventure Holiday. If this amount would be difficult for you to afford please do contact us as we can often subsidise places through our own fundraising activities.
Keep an eye on our 'latest news' section and on our mailing list for details of upcoming adventure holidays. If you would like to talk to a member of our team about our adventure holidays please do not hesitate to contact us.

The schools holidays can be a difficult time for families. The young people we work with often like the structured nature of the school day and, as we all know, home life just isn't like that. Our play schemes allow families a few hours break in the day, so
they can spend time with other siblings, do some housework, go to work or have a well earned rest.
We try and run play schemes in as many school holidays as possible. The activities are all out and about in the community.
As with all our projects, we tailor the activities to fit the young people we are caring for.
The cost of one day at play scheme is £8. If that amount is more than you could afford, please contact us as we can often subsidised places through our own fundraising activities.Keep an eye on our 'latest news' section and on our mailing list foe
details of upcoming play schemes.

These sessions are specifically designed for children who do not use words to communicate. Through sound, light, touch, smell and movement you will be taking on a journey of exploration, giving you the opportunity to learn new ways of interacting with your child and enabling them to interact with the world around them. Why not come down and find out what its all about?

SENSORY STORY
SATURDAY SWIM
If you have a child with a physical disability you are welcome to join us for a swim. We know that it is often difficult for families to access community facilities for lots of different reasons. We also know that swimming is a popular activity amongst the children and young people we work with!
Please let us know you are coming; we limit numbers in the pool to make sure everyone has plenty of space to play. Families only please - sorry but no Family Support Workers.

Yorda Adventures' Family Days are welcoming and safe environments for the whole family to go out together and have some fun. We do a variety of activities out and about in the community. In the past we have been swimming, bowling, 'donutting' (sliding down a dry ski slope on a rubber ring) and to the Discovery Centre in Bracknell.
We always have Yorda Adventures play workers on hand throughout the day to help out in any way needed. However, adults remain responsible for the children they bring. We cannot take any children without a responsible adult.
The only cost for Family Days are any entrance fees of the activity we are going to. We try and keep the costs of the activities we do down so that everyone who wants to can come along.
Check the calendar for Family Day dates and join the mailing list to make sure you're amongst the first to know when we release details.

FAMILY DAYS
After School Club
We work in strong partnership with Dysart School to run their after school club for working parents.
The club provides the specialist childcare needed for parents to increase their working hours or to go back out to training and employment.
This level of specialist childcare is difficult to find and our after school club always has a waiting list. Whilst we try to provide spaces for as many young people as possible each night, we are restricted by our funding.
We areoften asked if we only provide this service for parents at Dysart school. At the moment the answer is yes, we only run extended schools services at Dysart. This is something we would be interested in expanding in the coming years but as yet, we have no concrete plans.
